"Linde PureMotion" – efficient for man, the environment and the company

06.11.2007

Linde Material Handling provides its customers with unique and easy to handle product solutions for more efficiency.

With Linde PureMotion, the company combines its technological expertise for the protection of man and environment in all company areas. The principle of sustainability comes to the fore. The programme sets the guideline for the development of sustainable, innovative product features for Linde forklifts and warehouse equipment. Not only functionality, but environmental compatibility and ergonomics also have a long tradition at Linde Material Handling. The company recognised its responsibility to man and environment at an early stage. The Linde Pure Motion Programme will now attain the optimum.

(Frankfurt, 6 November 2007) – "We will only live up to our responsibility as a company if we succeed in combining protection of the individual, protection of the environment and economy. We will only live up to our responsibility as a company if, by using our technological expertise, we succeed in combining protection of the individual and protection of the environment." This insight formed the starting point for Linde Material Handling in its development of the Linde PureMotion programme. It had already been presented in its basic form in April 2007, in the context of the bauma Trade Fair in Munich. Now Linde Material Handling is presenting its extended programme for the first time to the public in Frankfurt am Main. “Linde PureMotion represents a logical continuation in our quest for technological quality”, said Director Georg Silbermann, explaining the philosophy. "We actually asked, what are we, as leading experts, doing to protect the individual and the environment?" said CEO Georg Silbermann.

The protection of the individual and of the environment has a long tradition at Linde Material Handling. It was 50 years ago that the company was granted the patent for the dual pedal control system of its vehicles. Thus was laid the foundation stone for ergonomics and user-friendliness for the products. Linde has been developing groundbreaking technological solutions since 1982 in order to relieve the driver, and working on the reduction of particle and soot emissions. But now the company is placing this theme on a much broader basis with immediate effect: "In the context of Linde PureMotion we have analysed all the departments, all our goods and services are examined to see whether and how we can guarantee efficiency and the protection of the individual and the environment," said CEO Georg Silbermann, making the far-reaching importance of the programme clear. With this programme, Linde Material Handling thus also underlines its position as technological leader in the industry, because this consistent perspective on the theme is unique anywhere in the world.

The entire activity of the company was to the test from the perspectives of the environment, handling and economy. The resulting findings have an effect throughout the entire company. This is made clear by the range of themes presented by Linde Material Handling in Frankfurt am Main: They include examples from the areas of development ("human vibrations", "drive train concepts", "hydrostatics", "ergonomics"), quality ("integrated quality management“), marketing & sales ("lifecycle costs"), production ("individuality") and testing ("impact drop test“).

CEO Georg Silbermann is in no doubt about the success of the Linde PureMotion programme: "The individual, the environment and economy are not mutually incompatible. They do in fact belong together. At this point our technological claims coincide with the requirements of our customers."
